Montrose Academy Parent Partnership

MONTROSE ACADEMY

Who are we?

MAPP is the Parent Council which is elected by the Parent Forum to run matters on its behalf. The Parent Forum consists of all the parent/carers who have a child that attends Montrose Academy.

MAPP is run by parent/carers volunteers and not by Montrose Academy or by Angus Council.

What we do ?

MAPP is involved in discussing school policies, issues of interest from parent/carers, making sure parents get the information they need in anaccessible way and the school gets feedback on parents views. MAPP also are involved in the recruitment of senior staff, the development of the School Improvement Plan and School Inspections. Our main fundraising event is the Festive Fayre we hold every November.

This raises money for the school and pupils and can be usedin a number of ways. Most recently we funded several school projects –The Girls Activity Club, Pottery Club, Modern Languages dept, Dance Cluband the Gardening Club.

How to get involved?

MAPP meet approximately once per term and all the parent/carers are invited to join the meetings with no expectations of commitment. It is a great opportunity to meet other parents and share your views.

MAPP have a Facebook page where we share information and you can get in contact with us if you have any issues that you want to raise.
